This is also known as Acid Red 388 Water Tracing is this dye’s primary purpose. Rhodamine WT has the ability to stain organic materials from plants, silt and dirt. It can also be detectable by the naked eye at higher concentrations.

It's used as a hydrologic tracer in surface water systems It's used for visual and fluoremetric studies It's used to calibrate many YSI 6-Series and EXO optical sensors
